Communication is King

Why are there so many books, journals, articles on communication and selling?

We as a society have gotten so poor at communication that we need to read about it to remember how. The question I pose is this does it all make a difference? Anyone who is in the sales industry has tried to better themselves by reading articles or book here and there. Have those things made a signifgant impact on production. If we are being honest with ourselves the truth is yes and no!

I can teach anyone who asks a million different ways to overcome objections. There is still a fundemental difference between the top 20% in a company (any sales company) and the bottom 80%. In most companies the top 20% bring in 80% of the revenue. This is called the 80/20 principle. How can that even be possible? I know I was amazed when i first learned about it. The truth is most organizations try to teach skill sets when they are really lacking the talent to teach it too!

How does all of this fit into the world of personal training? News flash everyone personal training is all about selling. Personal training is a product that is sold or not sold depending on the sales person (personal trainer). There is one fundemental fact about all of the top personal trainers in the industry they all have the TALENT of communication.
