Creating an "Experience" Posted on Mar 20, 2007 - 5:25PM After Being in the fitness industry for a combined 22 years, personal trainers are always asking my business partner and I what is the "secret" to success. After a brief grin we both reply "deliver an experience not a program." After a puzzled look from the personal trainer we crack the door to our secrets. We often find personal trainer's whom train with a clipboard and are in the business of program design. Truth be told, in the current internet savvy world there is nothing a personal trainer can teach a client that they can't find on the net or in a book. After delivering a "consultation" (not recommended by Alter Ego) many trainers find themselves trying to close clients. This creates an awkward situation for the trainer and the potential client.
